Among the few hundred authors topping the bestseller charts, there are, perhaps, less than a dozen of truly prolific writers. Among all of them, I can think only of two who write for multiple genres and age groups. James Patterson is probably the most famous, but, I submit, Bella Forrest is by far the most talented. This latest installment, the sixth in a series that might conclude in Book 7, or Book 8, is an excellent Action-Adventure. I found the romance angle was good, but the action and intrigue are the highlight.One Note: If you haven't read the previous books, I think you'll find this less rewarding than it otherwise would be. You also will need to read the next book, which is slated for publication in April.BLUSH FACTOR: The only profanities are the word rhyming with dam. "Harley Merlin 6" is a safe read for your prayer group and would be a good selection for your youngster. Your 80-year old grandmother will love it.POV: Each chapter is shown to us in the first person perspective of whomever it is we are seeing it through. The character who serves as our narrator is indicated at the Chapter heading, so confusion is minimized. I think first person works best for stories such as this, as our sense of intrigue and immediacy makes us readers feel as though we are with the narrator.WRITING AND EDITING: Professionally edited with an eye to detail.EXCERPT:Rather than post an excerpt, I recommend you to read the first book in the series. I'm betting you get drawn in to this magical tale and, before finishing the first book, will have done as I - purchased each Kindle Edition and each available Audible Edition at the reduced cost. Listening to the narrator speak to me as I read along is my favorite reading adventure.BOTTOM LINEThe writing is terrific. Forrest is one of the few writers who remembers to use the sense of touch and smell while drawing us our picture. Alas, though, as each story draws to the end of its episode, we are left with an unfulfilled story that forces us to wait impatiently for the next book. Therefore, I can't give five stars.Four stars out of five.I am striving to produce reviews that help you find books that you want, or avoid books that you wish to avoid. I loved having Finch in this book. I think he was the best character there and Harley was more of a side character I still get annoyed with how immature she can be and I will admit it's becoming a bit formulaic with battling Katherine, then they almost win but Katherine manages to beat them at the last second. Looking forward to the rest of the stories though.

There is non stop action in this book. Katherine is a master of deception and outwit the team at every turn. This latest instalment explores Harley and Finch's relatively tenuous relationship. Nature versus Nurture and had their roles been reversed Harley could have turned out differently. Plenty of action scenes and plot twists that I did not see coming. I cannot wait to see what happens next.

I wanna start by saying i love Bella Forrest. All her series are captivating including this one. However this book and this series particularly seems to drag on. I feel like we know Hayley isn't going stop Katherine until after the last ritual so every new book is the hero going up against impossible odds and coming out alive but without really accomplishing anything.

I couldn't "put the book down!" Absolutely fantastic read - a real page turner - already did the pre-order of book 7 and can't wait til April for it to come out! This is one of the best series I've had the pleasure of reading in a decade!

The Harley Merlin books are the second series of books that I've read from Bella Forrest (the first being The Spellshadow Manor Series). I love how she takes you on this magical journey, I feel like everything she envisioned, you can see with clarity in her words. And you are always looking forward to the next book! I love her books!

This series is a must read. I really dont know how Bella does it! The story sucks you in and keeps you on the edge of your seat.

Karen Martin is a consultant and an instructor for the University of California, San Diego's Lean Enterprise program and San Diego State University's Advanced Lean program. Mike Osterling is a seasoned Lean Consultant with broad improvement experience in manufacturing, service and office environments.  He co-developed the Lean Enterprise Certificate Program at San Diego State University in 1999 and continues to teach in that program as well as at the University of California San Diego.

This authors provide a comprehensive guidance to Kaizen Event. Specifically, I like the arrangement of chapters in accordance to the event process (Preparation, Execution, Wrap-up, and Follow-up). Chapter 12-15 are the best part of the book because these chapters describe clearly about the roadmap of office Kaizen project. Excellent.I expect to see a real example of Kaizen Event planner in Appendix in future.

I enjoyed this book and was able to apply SWIM Lanes, Kaizen and Value Stream Mapping. Recommend this book to newbies to LEAN Transformations.

Karen & Mike provide a wonderful roadmap for success. I can't recommend this book enough. In addition to great content they also provides a wonderful CD with tools to get started quickly. Simply get the book, read it, and start learning by doing!

If you are planning a Kaizen event, this is a great resource / tool. I'm a Six Sigma Green Belt and recently went thru Lean training. Our company recently held 2 Kaizen Events and used this planner as our foundation tool. This tool made the event a breeze to conduct, easy to document and follow-up on key post-event activities and deadlines a snap. Solid resource...now they need to create a Six Sigma version...

Kaizen events seem easy but they are not. And one of the most neglected aspects is planning. For a kaizen event to be successful, it is important to have a standard method of setting up the event, gathering the data, assigning the teams, getting the practicalities organized, and engaging the sponsor. Similarly, during the event it is vital to ave a clear-cut, standardized method of addressing the problems, root causes, possible solutions, rapid experiments, and so forth.This book does an excellent job of showing you how to do this. It also has an emphasis on kaizen in the office & service functions, rather than manufacturing. And it has a CD with all kinds of templates you can use.I have used this book with my own customers so they have a clear step-by-step formula. It works and it works well.

I have been leading and facilitating kaizen events for nearly a decade and was excited to utilize this new book from Karen and Mike. Several times while reading I found myself shaking my head thinking, "that's exactly right!" Too many times we order a good looking book title only to be let down with more theory and less practical application?
