Nice book; includes brief notes about each song. Note that my order said nothing about how to download the songs, but on the first page of the book the website and a unique code is provided. You then have the choice to download songs individually or as a zip file containing the full set. Songs are in mp3 format. Simple to upload into iTunes.

The Teen's Musical Theatre Collection: Young Women's Edition was recommended by our granddaughter's voice instructor and she could not have picked a better starting book for a 12 year old girl. There is a CD that accompanies the book so practice is easier and if the occasion arises to perform, the CD can be used to accompany the singer. The pitch range of the book is varied enough to supply altos and sopranos with a nice choice of songs. The only problem I had with the book was some of the selections are from musicals that are really old and have not been redone recently enough for a teen to be familiar with the songs, but it does supply a good musical history because of that. Many of the songs are from musicals that teens have grown up with so the interest of the teen in those songs is high. Great buy that will provide years of entertainment and instruction!

These book contains a wonderful variety of broadway pieces. The arrangements are fun and beautiful and much more appropriate for younger voices. The keys are much more suitable for developing voices!

My 13-year-old is taking group voice lessons. Last year, we just had to go with the book the teacher chose. She just didn't connect with any of the songs in it. This year, we shopped for our own and bought on Amazon because the price was so much more reasonable than from the publisher's website. This book had many songs that she really enjoys! We love the accompanyment CD and often keep it in the car so she can gain additional practice, especially while we're traveling to/from her lessons. For recital, she sang both "God Help the Outcasts," which brought serious tears to her daddy's eyes and "Think of Me." The arrangements are slightly different from the movie versions, but still very nice. If you're not sure which book to get, I recommend checking at the Hal Leonard website for additonal details but then come back here to order for the great price and service! Just make sure that you compare the identical book and read carefully for such items as the accompanyment CD, as they have many similarly-named choices.My daughter now wants me to get the book of solos from the musical "Wicked!" This is such a great compilation of songs and the quality of accompaniment on the CD is great as well. My only complaint, and perhaps it's because we are oversensitive about these things these days, there are several songs that make reference to a girl being submissive or not attractive. I think those were poor choices fro a TEEN music collection.

If you are in love with musical theater, then this book is for you! It has all the greats...Phantom of the Opera, the Sound of Music, Beauty and the Beast, among many others. They are not too difficult if you have some experience reading music. It also comes with a disc that makes practicing easy if you do not have access to a piano. Definitely a good buy to add to my collection!

This is definitely the best musical theatre repertoire book for young girls age 8-18. I've looked at several different books and this is by far the one with the most recognizable songs, while also meeting my standards of quality music and accessible range. There are about 12 songs in this book that I've been happy to teach my students and have them perform at recitals.

Very nice book to familiarize yourself with musical theatre pieces. Haven't used it too extensively yet, but already it seems easy to follow. Recommended.

I believe I have read nearly every thing hope Callahan has written! It's amazing to me how within one book you can become so attached to the characters in a series that when that series ends , you start missing these characters as though they are your friends. This book is no different. The family is starting to come back together the pawn shop is up and running and questions asked so long ago are finally being answered. I just purchased book number 5. Got to go reading awaits!

Did it follow her to hunt her and her family, that she is so desperatelytrying to get them all far away from. There's danger and treasure, withCriminals all around them. Not to mention a crazy nosey attendant to keepOut of their family business, along with quiet mother and daughter hidingfrom her cruel ex husband. Who's still looking for them. Enjoyable and nice easy to read story.

What an interesting and exciting story of the historical Savannah. Carlita has her family with her to help setup a pawn shop and solve the mystery of the underground tunnels they discovered in the basement that seem to lead to other businesses in their neighborhood. They learn there are stories of possible pirate booty and other adventures.

Hope Callaghan has done it again. This series continues to be a page turner. The series is about a New York mafia family that desires to leave their past behind and become good people. Each book explores the efforts of the family to become normal among the citizens of Savannah Ga. while having to deal with unexpected dead bodies and other mysteries to help solve. Great readihg!

I just read the first 4 books of Hope Callaghan's Savanah series this week. I loved this series so much I couldn't put it down until I finished it! The main characters were excellent and I felt like I knew them personally. The additional characters made me want to get to know them better. If you're interested in books that will keep you on the edge of your seat while you try to figure out what the end result is, I highly recommend this series! I can't wait until the 5th book in the series is available!

I'm sure enjoying the Families adventures, and the characters are so real I know them! I look forward to getting away from the everyday of my busy life and going to Savanna and into the next adventures of the Family. Into the darkness of underground tunnels or for walks along the rivers. The Who done it's, and The Who's next keeps me turning the pages. I'm on to the next book. You'll do the same. Enjoy!

I highly recommend this series. Good characters, entertaining plot, and at least one side character that I love to hate. Plus it is a quick and upbeat read, just like the other Callaghan books I've read so far. There's no gore, no foul language to speak of, and no steamy scenes, so if those things bug you, you're safe with this one and the others of the same series.

I absolutely adored this book!! I immediately fell in love with Henry (the irresistible, backward-walking donkey) and was amazed by the way that the author honestly shared her heartbreaks/ life struggles in a way that points us to God and His goodness! I loved the prayers that she shared, and definitely want to incorporate them into my daily conversations with the Lord. I pre-ordered this book for two of my good friends who live on farms and love the Lord...I know that they will be blessed by the book just as much as I have been! Absolutely loved this book! Truly a great story of patience, perseverance, and acceptance - something the world could use more of! The author’s style of writing made me feel as if I were right beside her, witnessing the antics and interactions between Henry and others. I laughed out loud, chuckled quietly, & wiped a few tears as I read through the many stories and messages shared. Will be reading again for a more in-depth review of the lessons learned by the author.

In this lovely book, Rachel Anne Ridge candidly tells her story of the tragedy, struggles and questions she's dealt with.Rachel and Tom thought Flash needed a companion donkey, so they (sort of) jumped on the opportunity to adopt a rescued miniature donkey. Rachel watched and learned from Flash, "Henry" (the new kid), and their slow-growing friendship. Somehow, as she slowed down and gave her own heart some breathing space, these poky-but-gentle creatures helped her see her doubts and questions in a new light. Meanwhile, she discovered guidance in other unexpected places, until her bruised faith kindled again into a warm flame.This is one of the most encouraging books I've read in a long time. SCOTT KELLY is a former U.S. Navy fighter pilot, test pilot, and NASA astronaut. Kelly retired from the Navy at the rank of captain after twenty-five years of service. A veteran of four spaceflights, Kelly commanded the space shuttle Endeavour in 2007 and twice commanded the International Space Station. He has spent more than 520 days in space and holds the record for the longest single mission by a U.S. astronaut. He lives in Houston. • Endurance by Scott Kelly, subtitled “my year in space and how I got there”, clicking on the cheapest offer at AMAZON I did end up with the “young readers edition” and an “advance readers copy – not for sale”, figure captions were missing and some pages apparently too. Never mind. The book is not about Mars but the international space station (ISS) is sometimes considered as a precursor for a Mars excursion. Scott Kelly and his twin brother, both Navy test pilots and shuttle pilots, became known for spending a year at the ISS. The book is Scott Kelly’s biography; about half of it is about the year at ISS. I doubt that Scott Kelly did write much of this independently, some sections are too-well written for a Navy pilot (misconception - perhaps) and the book came out at light speed after his return. Congrats to the unknown ghost writer, anyway, perhaps he did write it himself. The first part about a wild kid without focus raised by an alcoholic father (p. 10) that became a man in the military (p. 31) is more than cheesy – thanks to the ghost writer? The second half (p. 137pp) actually includes 1st hand interesting information about the ISS (smell of the ISS, p. 160; trouble with CO2 levels, Seedra, Sabatier system, p. 180; vision problems of male astronauts, p. 201; watching CNN at ISS - good, p. 214; ) Citing Kelly, “essential to getting to Mars,…, is a working toilet…”, p.192 following that sentiment, get a copy of Kelly’s book and make sure not to order in the “young readers edition” by accident, would be my suggestion – I enjoyed reading it.

Present for our Granddaughter who's interested in astronomy and space related items. She loves it.

For grandson. The adult version means just that. TMI for young readers.

I purchased this book for my son as a preparation for an event with Scott Kelly at Hayden Planetarium. He loved the book and meeting Scott Kelly and having him sing it made it special for my son. Having a young reader edition of this book was a great idea

My son, 11, is space crazy and this slightly edited edition of Scott Kelly's memoir is ideal for him. My husband and I read the standard version, and while there's nothing inappropriate in there, this is much more approachable for younger readers. With so many astronaut-obsessed kids, really appreciate that they release these inspiring stories for younger readers, as well as adults. (We also have Leland Melvin's fantastic Chasing Space, in both editions.)Kelly's inspiring story and personal passion for space exploration comes across in both versions of the book. A smart, entertaining look at an extraordinary life.

This is a wonderful adaptation of Scott Kelly's adult book about his year in space. It is much more though as he talks about his family and his relationship with his twin. I got this for my 8 year old grandson and I thought it might be too advanced for him but it wasn't. He was so entranced in the story and now has plans to be an astronaut. It's an aspiring story and a great book for young readers.

First off I need to say that this review is based on an advanced copy of Endurance by Scott Kelly and a couple of the things that I found reading this superb book may be corrected in the final edition.Scott Kelly was chosen by NASA to live on the International Space Station for a one year period to help studies into the effects of living in space over a long period, think travel to Mars or other deep space projects. As an added bonus, and something he reflects on in the book, Scott has a twin brother Mark, so additional studies could be done to determine things like cellular decay etc. Scott having a twin brother was not the reason he was picked for this mission but was a lucky side effect.The book Endurance has been out for a little while now and this is re-worked "Childrens" edition. I would say this book is good for teens to adults and whilst it is like a normal biography, things have been revamped a bit to cater more to a younger crowd, but it is by no means solely a childrens book.As with most biographies, the book starts with Scotts childhood and how he found it hard to study and keep his attention focused. Something a lot of people will identify with. It then progresses with Scott finding a goa to achieve and working hard towards that end. The goal in mind was being a pilot with the US Navy and possibly becoming an astronaut.The first half of the book deals with Scotts life from childhood to becoming a fighter pilot, becoming a test pilot, applying and being accepted for NASA and his two Shuttle missions, one as a pilot and the other as the commander. Although this book is mainly for Scotts year aboard the ISS, I would have liked the sections on his two shuttle missions to have been a little more in-depth. What was it like to launch in the shuttle, what were his roles as a pilot etc.The second half of the book is dedicated to Scotts training in Russia for his upcoming year in space mission, living on the ISS and the things he does including the experiments he has to carry out, daily routines like morning and evening briefings with a bunch of different space agencies, his very little down time etc. Although Scott doesn't go into everything and every little details, the book would become absolutely massive and I suspect fairly boring if he did, he does go into enough detail to give you a feeling of what it would be like to live on the ISS.Endurance is a fascinating read and the writing is such that it draws you in and makes you want to read more. There are a couple of places however that it appears there are pages missing in the book. The first is during his first shuttle mission and the second during ascent in the Russian Soyuz on the way to the ISS for his year long mission. The story suddenly stops mid sentence and the next page starts off further down the line leaving you confused and disjointed. As noted at the top however, this is an advanced copy and hopefully this has been corrected in the final version.I was a little surprised to learn that Scott basically told NASA that he didn't want to do his two stints on the ISS as he was a pilot and wanted to pilot things like the space shuttle (which was retired by this point). NASA has obviously changed as if you said you didn't want to do a mission back in the early Gemini/Apollo days that was fairly much the end of your career.Overall this is a excellent read with numerous pictures scattered throughout the book giving you a better understanding of what Scott is talking about at a particular time, for example a picture of him on the steps of the Soyuz launch pad turning to the crowd and waving as is a tradition by the Russians. It is also a great example of what you can do if you put your mind to something, to achieving a goal and working towards it.Well worth picking up this book and reading.
